CHARGE: HOTEL WORKER STOLE FROM WEDDING CARD BOX

A former maintenance worker at an Eau Claire hotel is accused of removing money from a card box following a wedding reception there.

The worker told police he took $140, but the groom told police $785 was missing from the box.

Davie Lee, 23, 1427 Lynn Ave., Altoona, is charged in Eau Claire County Court with a misdemeanor count of theft.

Lee is free on a $1,000 signature bond and returns to court Jan. 10.

According to the criminal complaint:

Jordan and Gina Olson had a wedding reception Sept. 17 at Metropolis Resort, 5150 Fairview Drive.

Jordan Olson picked up the card box from the reception hall the next morning. Olson and his wife discovered several cards were opened and missing their envelopes.

The Olsons checked with their guests and determined $785 was taken from the card box.

Hotel officials told police Lee was the only employee who entered the reception hall after the reception ended.

Lee eventually admitted to police he entered the card box but took just $140.

My daughter bought one of your boxes - the black 8X10 and I wanted to tell you how much we love the box. It came very quickly, was easy to assemble and looks beautiful. I was worried if this one would be big enough but it is really quite large and will fit our wedding size nicely. It looks polished, professional and just very pretty. She looked at a lot of other options and was getting a little frustrated before we found this. It is just perfect. I saw a lot folks who posted on the internet their own instructions for building something similar yourself. I have to say that this is a very cost effective alternative and I can't imagine that most of the do-it-yourself options would end up looking as good as this one does. Certainly ours would not have. I purchased the black 8x10.  We used it first for my daughters wedding in May of 2010, then her baby shower in March of 2011 and then again last Sat. 9/10/11 for my brothers wedding...my daughter in law and son are expecting in March of 2012 and I would hope that we will use it then.  We received so many compliments on the interchangable pictures and of course, the invite was posted on the top.  I like it too because the box locks and you have no worries of other "hands" getting to the envelopes.  Of course you can use my comments because I was at a loss for something to be used originally for my daughters rather large wedding reception.

In a world where good customer service seems to becoming extinct, it was a great pleasure to work with Kelly and her team. I ordered the beautiful white 8x10 card box for my daughter’s wedding. The package arrived very quickly. Due to the rough handling of the parcel delivery company, the lid of the box was a bit damaged.

Thank you for creating a locking wedding card box.  My sister from Texas had all of her cards stolen about 4 years ago from her wedding reception hall.  They left the basket but took all the cards out of the basket.  My wedding is this fall and I am so happy to have found a card box that actually locks. Hi,  I recently purchased the small perfect card box for my daughter's wedding.  First of all I cannot believe how quickly it was shipped! I received it within days of placing the order.  Secondly, we just put it together and I was surprised at the size of the box and the quality is wonderful.  A satin covered cardboard box at the local craft store was much smaller and of lesser quality for almost the same cost!  I can't wait to show it to my daughter.  Great product!

I just want to say 'thank you' for having such a great product!  I received it last night and it looks fantastic!  It is exactly what I was looking for.  I have been searching high and low for a sturdy and lock-able card holder and accidentally found your website.  I knew I like it when i first saw it on your website.  It is so well built and with all our pictures around it, even better!  No one can see the content within so your gift cards are safe from pryiing eyes.  The lock is better than those cheapo heart shaped cheesy lock on some of the other card boxes sold in the market today.  Before discovering your website I accidentally ordered one of those square metal look like a 'present' with a bow on top card box.  Upon receiving it, I  hated it.  It was cheaply made with flimpsy metal especially having your gift cards exposed to the public view and can be eaily broken into because it was so flimpsy.  The Perfect Card Box is totally opposite of this.  The Perfect Card Box is sturdy and solid!  The Perfect Card Box is exactly that...Perfect!  I plan to use it at my wedding reception this coming July 3, 2010 and many more years to come in our home.  I'll be recommending your products to all my family and friends.. that's for sure!

I have to share this cute story with you...I was at the gas station yesterday 5/6/2010 when the attendant asked me where I work..I told him  that I sell picture frame card boxes nationally and he says, "Where were you in November when I got married? I had originally planned on making my own picture frame card box.  I purchased 5 8x10 frames (originally 4, but the first one cracked when my mom and I were trying to drill an L bracket into it), thick white board for the top and bottom, satin to cover the top, 2 different kinds of lazy susans, and an exact-o knife.  Since the frames were not thick enough to attach the L brackets, we resorted to holding the frames together with black electrical tape.  Well, when it came time to make sure everything was going to be sturdy enough, spin correctly, and the top wasn't going to fall in-it just wasn't going to work.  Two weeks before my wedding we decided it was time to just order a card box.  I couldn't find anything else I liked-not even a little.  We went ahead and spent the money for The Perfect Card Box-something we should have just done from the beginning.  I assembled the box by myself in about an hour.  All the pieces were labeled perfectly, all the parts were included, and the directions were easy to follow.  I can't say enough about this product, I wish I had ordered it and saved myself the trouble!!  I hope you get your patent soon and can start marketing, more brides should know about The Perfect Card Box!

It took me all of 15-20 minutes to put it together by myself. I knew I did not want a birdcage or satin box for holding cards at my wedding reception.  I am so glad I found The Perfect Card Box by kellymariecollection because it really was PERFECT.  I love that it held all my gift cards and adding photos of me and my now husband really made it personal!
